Amusement 2000 Plus

Tonight before dinner, we went to an arcade that was a few blocks away from the hotel. I had called earlier to confirm that they would accept U.S. dollars in exchange for arcade tokens, since most arcades only accept cash and we didn’t have any Canadian Dollars.

The nice lady who owned the place was very happy to take our American dollars, and kind enough to give us a decent exchange rate. They definitely needed the business, but we also had a great time. We all had a laugh when she concluded that Davia had called earlier when we asked her for five U.S. Dollars worth of tokens.

We first played the Walking Dead game. It’s a typical zombie shooting game, only instead of a gun you had a crossbow. It was way better than expected and we ended up spending pretty much all five bucks there.

After that, we got some more tokens and played some pinball. Guardians of the Galaxy was the best pinball game. It had great music and it got really intense when we unlocked multi-ball mode and had three pinballs zipping around the game at once.

Then we moved on to Luigi’s Mansion, which was way better play than on the Wii U, with both players were working towards vacuuming up ghosts.

We had just five tokens left, and it cost 3 tokens to play any game. We took the two extra tokens and popped them into the arcade casino to test our luck.

This machine must be pretty old, considering the John Travolta-inspired background art.

Although we came up empty on the second quarter, on the first one we were able to push three tokens off the edge; with that we had enough tokens for us each to play one more pinball game before dinner.
